New Things!

Hello Blog!

Here I am updating like I said I would be! Most of you seemed to like my list which is good since I seem to be ticking things off it quite well. Since I posted it last week, I have achieved 2 things which I can now score out, which I am going to tell you about today. The first one being, I got a new tattoo which was number 4 on my list! Okay so I was already aware I was going to get another tattoo when I put the list up but I was running out of ideas so it went on it. Maybe Ill just get another one to make up for it.

Anyway, my tattoo is of a book and it's on the side of my heel just below my ankle bone. I have wanted this tattoo for so long and I'm very happy with how it turned out. It's a  small representation of my love of reading and writing and will be a constant reminder of what I want to do with my life! Here's a blurry phone picture of it, it's still healing so I'll not be getting a proper picture til that happens. But here you go, for now:

I'm not going to lie to you blog readers, tattoos hurt. This one wasn't as bad as I was expecting because it's tiny and it took like ten minutes, but in general, it's sore and anyone who says it isn't is either mental, or hasn't had one. It's ten needles going in and out of your skin all at the same time, so yes, of course it hurts. But sometimes, its worth the pain :P. I have two other tattoos as well, one on my leg and one on my back, they both hurt as well but I still love them.

Anyway, the other thing I have managed to tick off my list is number 10 which was to go to a new bar/restaurant/place. Since it was my best friend's birthday, we wanted to go out somewhere and celebrate and oh boy, we did. We started by going to one of our local haunts during the week and finishing in a new place at the weekend. We went to a bar called Eivissa which serves cocktails in fishbowls which was interesting seeing everybody walking around with them in the middle of a club. It was fun but I wasn't nearly drunk enough to truly enjoy it and of course the boyfriend was tired so he whinged a whole lot til I took him home. It's fine, he knows I call him a whinge-bag. I didn't have my camera with me but I did manage to snag one photo on my phone of the ceiling/wall in the club, which was all graffitied up and had like 12 disco balls hanging from it, which was rather insane.

It was a fun but eventful week and then I had to go to work on our busiest day of the week. I have finally managed to catch up on some much needed sleep but now I have to start ticking things off my to-do list unfortunately. Blogging was one of them, since it's on my list to blog once a week. The list is coming along well thus far, so let's hope I can keep the momentum going!

Any questions, please leave them in the comments below, or feel free to email me at samiandthecity@gmail.com. You can also ask me anything on twitter by @samiandthecity or find me on facebook.

Until next time,

p.s Some of you were asking me about the Supper club mentioned in my last blog, I did mean to put a link but I forgot, so if you are interested in that, please click here.

The Kiss & The List

Well readers, I got my kiss under the fireworks and it was spectacular. The fireworks were as awesome as always and we had a fun night having dinner at the Studio 37 Supper Club Halloween Special where we got to meet some interesting and new people, drink alcohol and eat some amazing food. You should get yourselves to one of these nights, they are well worth the money, I swear!

I did intend to update sooner than this but alas work and other such things have kept me busy but I'm here now so that's all that matters. Usually for me, November is a month of madness, as it's when all the Uni assignments are due and I like to participate in NaNoWriMo. Unfortunately this year, I am no longer at Uni and so have been working away instead. I did want to attempt NaNo but I just don't have the time, or the motivation at this moment in time. However, I am planning on cutting back my hours come January and focusing on writing. So you have that to look forward to.

Now I know how popular my 21 by 21 list was and I have once again devised a list, henceforth named as 'The List!' of 10 things I want to achieve basically by this time next year. I know people usually wait til landmark occasions to start doing things, but why do tomorrow what you can do today! Or so they say. There are some things on my 21 by 21 list that I didn't get around to doing that have been transferred on to this list or changed around slightly to make them more achievable - I hope!

So without further ado, here's the list and you can all start bothering me to getting it done :P.

1. Finish at least one of the novels I have started.
2. Learn to drive.
3. Open a savings account and start saving.
4. Get another tattoo
5. Go to an open mic night - poetry, not singing.
6. Blog at least once a week.
7. Get a job or work experience relevant to my career goals.
8. Bake all the cupcake recipes from the cupcake book I bought.
9. Visit another country.
10. Go to at least one new bar/club/restaurant/place.

So here's hoping I get 10/10 this time around and if this list is anything to go by, I'll be updating you next week ;).
